Reports of people dying after consuming toxic liquor are often coming in. This time it is sad news from Bihar. Eight persons lost their lives due to drinking in West Champaran district of Bihar The incident took place in Telhua village under Nautan police station on Wednesday night.
As per prahlad yadav, the son of a deceased, his father consumed alcohol and returned home after which his condition started deteriorating. He was taken to the district headquarters for treatment but died on the way. It was then that reports of eight deaths due to consumption of liquor in the area came to light. The death of eight people has left the district administration in a twee.
According to sources, the district administration is investigating the entire matter but it is yet to be ascertained whether all the deaths were due to adulterated drinking. It may be recalled that five people died and several others fell ill after consuming liquor in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on October 30.
Two persons including a member of the local panchayat committee were arrested in connection with the incident. Sixteen people died in West Champaran in July this year after consuming spurious liquor. The liquor incident took place at that time in areas under Loria and Ramnagar blocks of the district.
