Whatasapp banned over 71 lakh Indian users in the month of April, as per reports on the every month in accordance with Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
The Meta-owned company said that banned 7,18,000 Whtasapp accounts and out of those 1,302,000 were proactively blocked, before any reports from users
Whatsapp bans users accounts to maintain safe and scure environment for its users. Some of the major reasons for banning these accounts include:
*Violation of Terms of Service: This includes accounts that engage in spams, misinformation, and content.
* Users Report: Whatsapp takes actions based on reports from users who encounter abusive or inapporiate behaviour.
* Legal Violations: Any activity from accounts that breaches local laws results in an immediate ban.
